Read More	Holyoke Enterprise, Holyoke, CO, September 9, 1992 Jack Maurice Saylor of Holyoke was born February 13, 1930 on the Saylor farm north of Holyoke. He was the second son of William F. and Emma Cochell Saylor. Jack died September 2, 1992 at Midway, British Columbia, Canada at the age of 62. At the time of his death, Jack was returning from a memorable visit with his brother Kent in Alaska. During his childhood, he attended Sunnyside School north of Holyoke and later attended Phillips County High School. At an early age, after the death of his father, it became necessary that he and his brothers run the family farm full time. Jack served two years with the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean War. On March 21, 1954 Jack married Mildred Chandler in Raton, New Mexico. Since that time they have continued to make their home in the Holyoke area where Jack continued farming. To this union six children were born: Heidi Lynette, Jody Lorraine, Kathy Ranay, Jerilyn Faye, Nicky Wayne and Tillie Mae. Jack was Past Commander and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the Rural Fire Board, Pheasants Forever, Holyoke Gun Club and Club 25. He loved life and lived each day to its fullest. His family was very important to him and his life was filled with many wonderful friendships. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Mildred of Holyoke; son Nicky and wife Sandra of Holyoke; daughters Heidi McCreery and husband Jerry of Denver, Jody Merrill and husband Kenny of Sterling and Kathy Wolfe and husband Richard, Jerilyn Coyne and husband Barry and Tillie Fisbeck and husband Lennie, all of Holyoke; brothers Kent Saylor of Delta Junction, Alaska and Jim Saylor and wife Sunny of North Granby, Connecticut; eight grandchildren; an aunt; an uncle; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 8, 1992 at the First United Methodist Church of Holyoke with Rev. Jim Mort officiating. Burial followed in Holyoke Memorial Park. Military honors were conducted by the Holyoke VFW Post No. 6482.
