JACOB ANDREW FREDERICKS Jacob Andrew Fredericks, a former Pawnee City resident, died at his home in Moline, Kans., February 16, 1920, from a complication of diseases, aged sixty years, eight months and twenty-nine days. He was born at Reading, Pa., May 17, 1859, and came to Pawnee City in 1881. He was married to Miss Nerie Hare January 21, 1885, and to this union five children were born, Hubert, Helen, Clifford, Blanche and Gertrude, all of whom are living but Helen. Mr. Fredericks, or "Jake", as he was called by his many friends here, was one of the pioneer business men of Pawnee City. He was in business here for over 32 years, conducting a restaurant and bakery. He took an interest in the up-building of the town, was a fine man, liked by everyone, and numbered his friends by the score. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church in Pawnee City Thursday afternoon, February 19, and were conducted by Rev. C. N. Dawson. Interment was made in the Pawnee City Cemetery. To the sorrowing wife, children and grandchildren is extended the sympathy of the entire community. THE PAWNEE REPUBLICAN, Feb. 26, 1920.
