He was born near New Springfield, June 11, 1859, a son of Thomas and Hanna Smith Buhecker and his whole life was spent in this vicinity, for some time as a farmer and for many years as a blacksmith at Unity. On Aug. 12, 1883, he was married to Miss Melissa Wetzel of this township whom he leaves along with one son, Park Buhecker of Unity and four daughters, Mrs. Francis Ertzinger of Columbiana, Mrs. Curtis Wetzel of Unity, Mrs. Samuel Welsh of this city and Mrs. Samuel Bacon of Richmond Cal. Surviving sisters are Mrs. Samuel Hadley of this township and Mrs. Anderson Sheely of New Springfield. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Salem Reformed church of the deceased was a member. Friends may call at the home in Unity at any time.
