Rev Martin Simmons officiated. Pallbearers were Kenneth Weszner, Marvin Schock, Art Henke, Marvin Hoffman, Marvin Schneider and Neil Schneider. Burial will be in Zion 11 Lutheran Cemetery. Jacob F. (Fred) Schneider was born March 15, 1902 at the Beresina District near Ashley, the son of Frederich and Christina nee (Schlenz) Schneider. He married Mary Steinwandt on April 4, 1926 at rural Ashley. They made their home on their farm and lived there until 1984 when they retired and moved into Ashley. In addition to farming he was in the real estate business for 17 years. He was a member of Zion 11 Lutheran Church near Fredonia and served as Church Treasurer, Trustee, Deacon, and on the Cemetery board. When the Church closed they transferred to Zion Lutheran in Ashley. He is survived by his wife Mary, friend Hugo Krueger, 2 brothers Adam and Johnnie of Ashley, 6 sisters, Maria Henke Ashley, ND, Christina Heinrich, Aberdeen, SD, Emily Jund, Oregon, Martha Quaschnick, Glyndon, Minnesota, Katharine Propst of Oregon and Pauline Brandenburger of Ashley. His parents, 1 sister and 1 infant son preceded him in death.
