Description	:	Jacob was the sixth of 11 children born to Gysbert "Steve" and Adrianna "Jane" (Van Gorp) De Jong. His sibling were - Gysbertje "Gussie" born 1869, Nellie born 1872, Frank born 1875, Martin born 1879, Peter born 1882, Marie born 1886, Dirk born 1887 (died young), Dirk "Dick" 1892, Matthew born 1895, and John born 1897. He registered for both WWI and WWII, but I found no record that he served in the military. February 15, 1924, he married Anna C., daughter of Evert and Rachel (Ten Bosch) Tysseling in Black Oak Mahaska Co, Iowa. Anna was also from a farming family in the same area. They had four children - Audrey Ruth born 1931 Edward Gysbert born 1933 Francis Arlene born 1935 Herman Dale born 1938 Jacob's gravestone says he was born 1885, but Iowa Births and Christenings says 1884.
