He was born May 20, 1923 in Carroll County, VA to the late James & Melinda Cagle Edwards. Mr. Edwards was a loving husband and special father. He was the owner and operator of State Line Motor Company and a devoted Christian & member of White Plains Baptist Church for 55 years. He was born May 20, 1923 in Carroll County, VA to the late James & Melinda Cagle Edwards. Mr. Edwards was a loving husband and special father. He was the owner and operator of State Line Motor Company and a devoted Christian & member of White Plains Baptist Church for 55 years. He is survived by his wife: Bertie Pruitt Edwards, of the home; sons & daughter-in-law: Dennis Edwards, Mount Airy, NC, David Edwards and special friend Donna Bedsaul, Mount Airy, NC, Darrell & wife Lisa Edwards, Cana, VA, and several special nieces & nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his sister, Inez McMillian, and brothers, Isaac, Henry & Nathan Edwards. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 29, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Howell Funeral Chapel of Mount Airy, conducted by Rev. Bill Tucker, Rev. Tom Delp, and Brother Don Collins, with interment to follow in the Edwards Family Cemetery, Cana VA.
