Henrich, boyhood resident of Alton and for many years manager of the F.M. Slagle & Company Lumber Yard at Bridgewater, South Dakota, passed on last Friday after an operation and illness of about eight days. He was widely known as a fine representative business man, community builder and highly valued member of the company which he served so well and faithfully for more than forty years. Mr. Henrich was born December 16, 1875, at Burlington, Wisconsin and came with his parents to Alton on May 17th, 1878. He attended school in Alton and later went to college in Cincinnati. In 1898 he went to Bridgewater to operate the F.M. Slagle Yard and continued in that capacity until his passing. He was married to Miss Emily McAndrew of Bridgewater and three children were born to the couple. Dr. Melvin Henrich of Riverton, Wyoming, Anna (Mrs. J.B. Dolezel) of Olympia, Washington, and Frances, (Mrs. W.F. Bolinger) of Parkston, South Dakota. He is survived by these children and their mother; and by four brothers: E.S. Henrich of Alton, J.P. Henrich of Leunox, W.J. Henrich of Centerville, and C.P. Henrich of Beresford, South Dakota. Pontifical High Mass was held at the Bridgewater Catholic Church Monday morning after which the body was brought to Alton for burial in the family lot at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
