He married Sarah Alice Shaver on Sept 28, 1889 in Virginia. They were the parents of William, Mattie E or Hattie (b 1893), Milborne F (1896-1977 CA), Viola, Sarah, Ida, Claude, Jess K (1901-1974 CA), and James. March 29, 1940 - Humboldt Republican - GILMORE CITY — Jake Camper, 72, passed away at his home here Sunday morning, March 24, at 7 o'clock. He had been ill for the past two years and was bedfast for the past two months. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon of this week from the Baptist church with the Rev Schroder officiating. Burial was in Pocahontas cemetery. Mr Camper was a retired farmer, having moved to Gilmore City 6 years ago. Surviving are his wife and 3 daughters and 5 sons. The daughters are Mrs Ben Doren of Pioneer, Mrs John Tate of Pocahontas and Mrs Earl Dixon of Detroit, Michigan; the sons are Claude of Rolfe, Bill of Virginia, and 3 sons in California. Mr and Mrs Camper celebrated their Golden Wedding at their home here Sept 28, 1939. Contributor: - 46867609 - Pursuant to his death certificate, he was the son of Henry Camper and Sarah Fleener.
