He married Minnie Harrison, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. V. Harrison in February, 1892. Read More	The Osceola Sentinel, Osceola, Iowa July 5, 1945, Page 6 James Marquis James Marquis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Marquis, was born in Clarke county, Iowa, April 19, 1870. He married Minnie Harrison, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. V. Harrison in February, 1892. They established their home on a farm in the community in which they were born, spending all their early life there. To this union three children were born. Mrs. Marquis died April 23, 1920. A short time after his wife's death, Mr. Marquis went to Indianola to make his home with his daughter Lila Rankin. Mr. Marquis married Nellie Luddington March 1, 1922. They made their home on West Salem Ave., Indianola, where he died June 15, 1945. Mr. Marquis had been in failing health for several years. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Stella and Mrs. Lila Rankin; his son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Marquis; a step-daughter, and family, Mr. and Mrs. Alden Thorn and children Nancy and Gordon; two sisters, Mrs. Lewis Waugh, Woodburn, and Mrs. Anne Calvin, Manhattan, Kan.; three grand children, Mario and Frances of Los Angeles, California, and James of the U. S. navy, children of Mrs. Lila Rankin; many nieces; nephews; other relatives, and many friends. Mr. Marquis was a member of the Bethel Chapel church and active in church affairs wherever he lived. Service was held Sunday, June 17, at 3 p . m. at the Orr Funeral Home. Interment was in Bethel Chapel cemetery. The Rev. Walter T. Martin was in charge of the service, the Rev.
