Wobeter, 84, died of old age and complications at 1:45 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 1955, in Mercy Hospital, Marshalltown. He had been in failing health for the past two years. Born in Otter Creek township on Sept. 8, 1870, Mr. Wobeter was the son of Francis and Mary Tichy Wobeter. He was educated in Kilarney rural school in Otter Creek, where he lived his entire life. In 1900 he was married to Jennie Kupka in St. Josephs church at Chelsea. He farmed in Otter Creek township and was a member of Holy Trinity church there. For many years he also acted as township trustee. Surviving are his wife; three daughters: Mrs. Leo (Albi) Upah, Chelsea; Mrs. Harry (Lucille) Grabenbauer, Marshalltown; and Mrs. J. C. (Elizabeth) Dvorak, Clutier; and three sons: William, who lives on the family farm at Otter Creek; Celestine and Edward, both of Toledo. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Mohr of Des Moines and Mrs. Agnes Wild of Tama; 22 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A son James and a daughter Mary preceded him in death. The rosary was recited by Father Joseph Syrovy, pastor of Holy Trinity church, at 8 p.m. Friday in the Mason Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 8 a.m. Saturday in the Funeral Home and at 9 a.m. in Holy Trinity church. Father Syrovy officiated and music was furnished by the church choir. Misses Phyllis Upah, Theresa Dvorak and Genevieve Wobeter were in charge of flowers and Masses. Pallbearers were Bernard Upah, Lawrence Wobeter, Philip Dvorak, Leo Welsh, Victor Wobeter, and Phillip Grabenbauer.
