Description	:	James Armstrong James Armstrong, age 92, a farmer well known and respected citizen of Cascade, died at Cedar Rapids, Monday, August 4th. It is coincidental that Mr. Armstrong died on his 92nd birthday as he was born August 4, 1838, in Pennsylvania. Read More	James Armstrong James Armstrong, age 92, a farmer well known and respected citizen of Cascade, died at Cedar Rapids, Monday, August 4th. It is coincidental that Mr. Armstrong died on his 92nd birthday as he was born August 4, 1838, in Pennsylvania. In 1852 he came west to Iowa with his parents and settled at Old Man's Creek, near Iowa City. In later years, Mr. Armstrong came to Cascade and settled on a farm northwest of Cascade where he lived for many years. After the death of his first wife, Mr. Armstrong was married to Mrs. Mary Robinson, widow of Adam Robinson, on Sept. 18, 1897. She died Jan. 19, 1923. Mr. Armstrong went to Iowa City three years ago, where he lived for a time, and later to Cedar Rapids where he was living at the time of his death. THE CASCADE PIONEER, Cascade, Iowa, Thursday, August 7, 1930 James Armstrong, 92, residing at the home of Mrs. Minnie Bowman, 428 A. Avenue Northeast, died at 10:30 a.m. today. He was born Aug. 4, 1838, in Pennsylvania and came to Iowa with his parents in 1852, settling at Old Man's Creek near Iowa City. He made his home in Cascade for a number of years. The body is at Beatty Chapel where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be made at Cascade. Cedar Rapids Monday, August 4, 1920 Mrs. Armstrong, mother of James Armstrong of this city, died at Walnut, Iowa, on Monday. Mr. Armstrong attended the funeral.
