Description	:	James Augusta Fleming, 77, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. R. I. Blatter on Tuesday after a week's illness. Mr. Fleming has been in failing health for the past two years but until a week ago was able to be about his home. His is a pioneer of Boone county, having lived here most of his life. He was born Dec. 25, 1865 at Earlville, Iowa, to Phillip and Lucinda Fleming. Mr. Fleming has been in failing health for the past two years but until a week ago was able to be about his home. His is a pioneer of Boone county, having lived here most of his life. He was born Dec. 25, 1865 at Earlville, Iowa, to Phillip and Lucinda Fleming. On April 5, 1899 he was united in marriage to Amanda Holmberg at Albion and lived for some time in Plum Creek precinct. Mr. Fleming was well known by every one in the county. After leaving Plum Creek he moved to Albion where he was owner of a Rackett store, later going into the music business which he operated until about twenty years ago, when he retired from active work. He was county assessor for a number of years and also served on the City Council here. He was affiliated with the Methodist church since early manhood. He leaves to mourn his death his two daughters, Eva, Mrs. R. I. Blatter, and Lucille, Mrs. Garnet Sherrill, of Albion. Mrs. Fleming preceded him in death in 1934 and two children died in infancy. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 from the Methodist church, Rev. Mr. Blough officiating. Those from out of town in attendance at the funeral were Stella and Fred Burdick and Roy Fleming of Lewellen, niece and nephew of the deceased.
