Born in Upper Kennetcook on February 10, 1943, Bobby was a son of the late William and Viola (Miller) Hanes. He worked for 34 years at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, retiring in 1995. Bobby is survived by his wife of 48 years, Norma (Zinck); daughter, Heather; granddaughter, Holly; brother, Kerry; brother-in-law, Charlie Newton; and several nieces and nephews.
