He was born May 18, 1926, in Canalou, the son of Nathaniel Green and Gracie Marie Pointer Hewitt. He and Margaret H. DeArman were married Aug. 3, 1945, in Canalou. He owned and operated Hewitt's Barber Shop more than 40 years and was also a cabinet maker. He was born May 18, 1926, in Canalou, the son of Nathaniel Green and Gracie Marie Pointer Hewitt. He and Margaret H. DeArman were married Aug. 3, 1945, in Canalou. He owned and operated Hewitt's Barber Shop more than 40 years and was also a cabinet maker. Survivors include his wife; two sons, James and Paul Hewitt; a daughter, Susan Chadd; a brother, Ronnie Hewitt; two sisters, Freida Hillis and Pat Siebert; and seven grandchildren. A Masonic service will be held Thursday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Funeral service will be held Friday at the Chapel.
