Logan Funeral services for James D. Logan, 80, of Beatrice, Neb., will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Fox Funeral Home, 1116 N. 19, Beatrice, Neb. The Rev. Waldo Greer will officiate. Mr. Logan died Feb. 8, 2000, at the McAllen Heart Hospital in McAllen, Texas. He was born March 26, 1919, at rural Diller, Neb. He graduated from Beatrice High School in 1937 and attended the Success Business College in Denver from 1939 to 1940. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1941 to 1945, attaining the rank of master sergeant. Returning to Beatrice in 1945 he was co-owner and service manager of Paul Logan Motor Company for 21 years. He then worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 15 years, retiring in 1981. He was a very active member in several Masons groups, of the Bitting-Norman Post No. 27 of the American Legion and the Geddes-Thober Post No. 1077. His summers were spent at Milford Lake. Survivors include his wife, Ida Mae, of the home; on son, William Logan of Lincoln, Neb.; his mother, Grace Logan of Beatrice; one sister, Jeanne Summers of Fort Worth, Texas; one brother, Robert Logan of Sherman, Ill.; one grandson. He was preceded in death by his father Paul Logan, who died in 1980. The family will greet friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Fox Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice, Neb. Memorials may be sent to the Fox Funeral Home, 1116 North 19, Beatrice, NE 68310.
