A native of Greenville County, son of the late Isom Earl and Lunora Henson Brown, he was a retired carpenter and a member of Ebenezer Welcome Baptist Church. Mr. Brown was a mason, shriner, and a member of Woodmen of the World. Surviving are three daughters, Linda Brown Dillard and her husband, Joe, of Inman, Wanda Brown Penland and her husband, Rick, of Travelers Rest, and Kathy Brown Roberts and her husband, Pat, of Lyman; two sons, James Eulon Brown and his wife, Patricia, of Duncan and Roger Brown and his wife, Mary Ann, of Iron Station, North Carolina; a brother, Harold Brown of Greer; a sister, Nellie Tate of Duncan; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Mr. Brown was predeceased by three brothers, William Earl Brown, Clifton Brown, and T.E. Brown; and three sisters, Noette Suddeth, Wendell Campbell, and Mary Turner. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Ebenezer Welcome Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Vince Gainey, Dr. Drew Hines, and Dr. Walter Johnson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richie Penland, Chad Brown, David Gay, Tyler Gay, Leon Campbell, Bill Herman, Wilson Peace, and Billy Brown. Honorary escort will be the Men's Sunday School Class of Ebenezer Welcome Baptist Church. Visitation will be held 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Wood Mortuary. The family is at the home, 3275 East Gap Creek Road, Greer. Memorials may be made to Ebenezer Welcome Baptist Church Building Fund, 4005 Highway 414, Landrum, SC 29356.
