The late Mr. Uhlman was born in Torbrook August 1st, 1875, and was a son of the late Jacob and Jane Uhlman and he was a lifelong and highly respected resident of Torbrook. He leaves to mourn their loss, his wife, formerly Sophia MacGregor, three sons: George, Wilmot Station; Leon, at home; and Milton, Torbrook Mines; a sister Laura, Shrewsbury, Mass.; two brothers: Marton, Compton, N.H.; and Parker, Westboro, Mass.; three grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a large number of distant relatives also survive. The late Mr. Uhlman followed farming and was very active until a month previous to his death. The funeral service was held at the United Church, Torbrook Mines, and was conducted by the pastor, Rev. D.C. Boothroyd, assisted by Rev. A.G. McClare, of Nictaux. Hymns sung by the male choir were "Asleep In Jesus," and "Sometime We'll Understand." A duet "No Night There." by Messrs. Mark Neily and Carroll Armstrong. Solo, "The Christian's Goodnight," by F.L. Martyn. The many floral tributes were very beautiful. Interment was in the cemetery adjoining the church. Pallbearers were Messrs. Arthur Jefferson, Jos. Banks, Frank Balser and Aubrey Sanford.
