Raymond Barber from Dodge Memorial Congregational Church in Council Bluffs in charge. He was assisted by Denny Neal. The organist, Mrs. Lois Frazee, accompanied Rev. Raymond Barber and Mrs. Francis Gray as they rendered the following selections, “God Understands” and “Does Jesus Care.” Flower bearers were Mrs. Lorene Neal and Mrs. Reva Marsh. James Francis Blaine Prather, son of Cyrus and Mary Prather was born August 14, 1883 in Adams County, Iowa and passed away May 30, 1959 in Clarinda, Iowa. Mr. Prather lived several of his earlier years in Corning, Iowa and received his education in the schools of that city. On November 17, 1906, he was united in marriage to Elma Watt and for 51 years they were privileged to make Villisca their home. For many many years Mr. Prater was a respected employee of the F. F. Jones Hardware Company of Villisca and most satisfactorily served the people of that community and others for miles around. He leaves now, to revere his memory, his faithful wife, Elma, two daughters, Mrs. Velma Else and Mrs. Evelyn Anson, both of Villisca, five grandchildren, Vincent and Vernon Else and Norman (U.S.N., Japan), Beverly and Duane Anson; and one brother, Rev. D. B. s. Prather of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Mr. Prather will be remembered by his loved ones and friends as a faithful husband, a good father, a conscientious workman, an upstanding, God fearing citizen, and a helpful neighbor and friend. He dearly loved his children and grandchildren, was keenly interested in athletics all through his lifetime, kept abreast of current events, and was alert to the needs of his day. All these things combine to make him a man well thought of and now become a fine memorial to his name. Wolfe Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
