Rosary service will be held Thursday, July 13, at 9:30 a.m. at Klawitter-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Nelson. Memorials may be given for masses or to the Sacred Heart Improvement Fund in care of the family, 6125 Walker Ave., Lincoln, NE 68507. Klawitter-Price Funeral Home of Nelson is in charge of the arrangements. James moved to Nuckolls County with his parents as a small child, where he attended Star Rural School, and lived and farmed there most of this life. February 9, 1926, he was united in marriage to Clara Barta in the Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Deweese, Nebraska. To this union four daughters were born, Margaret, Kathryn, Cecilia and infant daughter, Mary, born and deceased December 20, 1944. They lived on a farm in Nuckolls County, southeast of Deweese for 28 years. They moved to a farm near Oak and lived there 10 years, then to another farm southeast of Deweese before retiring to Nelson in March 1968. James continued to raise a huge garden and chickens. He played the accordian (sic) for much of his life, playing for his own enjoyment as well as others. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nelson. Preceding him in death were his parents; infant daughter, Mary; six brothers, Francis, Frank, Matt, Edward, Joseph and Lester; and two sister, Marie Pallas and Anna Mazour. Survivors include his wife, Clara; three daughters, Margaret Hattan and her husband Hubert of Concordia, Kansas, Kathryn Murtaugh and her husband Patrick and Cecilia Mazour; all of Lincoln, Nebraska; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
