Description	:	SALISBURY - James Gray Linder, 81, of Salisbury, passed away Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at Tucker Hospice House of Cabarrus County. Born Nov. 22, 1927, in Caldwell County, Mr. Linder was a son of the late John Thomas and Frances Lewis Linder. He was educated in Woodleaf schools and served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He retired in 1992 after 23 years with Hoechst Celanese but continued to work with them as an independent contractor until 2004. Read More	SALISBURY - James Gray Linder, 81, of Salisbury, passed away Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at Tucker Hospice House of Cabarrus County. Born Nov. 22, 1927, in Caldwell County, Mr. Linder was a son of the late John Thomas and Frances Lewis Linder. He was educated in Woodleaf schools and served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elvira Overcash Linder; daughter Leesa Dawson of Richmond, Va., and John Dawson; daughter Angela Johnson and husband Mitchell of Lincolnton; grandson Brent Johnson and wife Delania of Iron Station; and one sister, Bernice Linder Pridgen of Monroe. He was preceded in death by sisters Eunice Linder Freeze and Bertha Linder Proehl and brothers J.T. Linder, Jr. Boyd Linder and Floyd Wilson, Sr. Visitation and Service: Family will receive friends Sunday, March 1 from 2-3 p.m. at Organ Lutheran Church of Salisbury. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. officiated by Rev. Terrell Long and Rev. Robert Yount. Burial will follow in the Organ Lutheran Church Cemetery.
