Morgan, was born January 29th, 1890 near Valley Falls and died at Camp Dodge, Iowa, October 18th, 1918. Having resided here practically all his life the deceased was well known. Read More	per Raymond Riley The Farmers' Vindicator, Friday, 25 October 1918 OBITUARY--MORGAN James Hiram Morgan, son of Elias and Emma C. Morgan, was born January 29th, 1890 near Valley Falls and died at Camp Dodge, Iowa, October 18th, 1918. Having resided here practically all his life the deceased was well known. The latter part of the time prior to his induction into the service he was employed at his trade as a cigar maker in the Huber Factory. June 25th last he entered the military service and at the time of his death was a private in the 276th Field Hospital Company Ninth Sanitary Train at Camp Dodge. The remains were brought home Monday morning arriving on the Santa Fe train from Atchison. His brother, Raymond went to Camp Dodge Friday evening hoping to find Jimmy Alive, but arrived too late. The mother, Mrs. Emma C. Morgan, two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Weaver, of Ozawkie, and Mrs. Rose Hanson of Valley Falls and one brother, Raymond Morgan of Topeka survive him. His father died September 13th, 1902. On his return from the service he was to have been married to Miss Dena Koepke of Hastings, Nebraska. She attended the funeral. He was a member of the A.O.U.W. Though he was not a member of any church he made a profession of faith in Christ prior to his death under the ministry of the Y.M.C.A. Director at the camp. On account of the closing order issued because of the influenza epidemic, the funeral service was held at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock, the Rev. C. E. Holcombe officiating.
