| Description | : | James Harrison was born in Glanford County, Ontario in 1845. His father, Robert Harrison (1812-1869) immigrated to Canada from Armagh, Ireland and married Mary Clark (1808-1887). James was the eldest of three sons: James (1845-1934), William (1848-1932) and Robert (1850- 1925). The family had a farm south of the 2nd concession in Middleton, Norfolk County, Ontario. The family eventually moved to lot 27- 4th concession in Amaranth, Ontario. In June 1868 at the age of 23, James took up arms in the Fenian Raids.
