Description	:	Son of Zephania Holcomb and Christiana Rupe, an unmarried couple. 8 months after James' birth Christiana Rupe married Moses Gee. It is first noted that James chose to use his mother's maiden name on the 1843 Gallia Co, Ohio marriage record between James Roup and Lucinda Parkins and continued to use it for his entire life. Per 1900 Census Lucinda was the mother of 11 children of which only 6 were living at that time.
