Read More	Parents are Johnson McDonough & Emma Kemp --------------- James McDonough Died Suddenly At Estherville Word was received here late Tuesday night of the death of James McDonough, 73, at his home at Estherville. Mr. McDonough was a brother of Mrs. E. C. Hanson and brother-in-law of Mrs. Hazel Black of Spirit Lake. Although he had been ailing in health for some time, he was feeling well recently. He had retired during the evening while his wife was attending a lodge meeting. When she returned he stated that he felt a bit hungry and she had gone to the kitchen to prepare him a lunch. When she returned she found he had succumbed suddenly to a heart attack during her short Absence. Mr. McDonough was well known here because of numerous visits here. He was employed by the Rock Island railroad for thirty years as conductor and in other capacities, Before he was pensioned he served for several years as custodian at the North Superior School, later returning to his work with the railroad. He was pensioned a few years ago, and made his home in Estherville. A sister of Mr. McDonough and Mrs. Hanson passed away in Oregon in September. Funeral services will be held at the Presbyterian church in Estherville, Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. and burial will be made at the Superior Cemetery. *The Spirit Lake Beacon, May 18, 1944. -----------
