Description	:	James Pearson was born in Gillbent, Cheshire, England, April 11, 1837, and died at his home in Pleasanton, Nebraska, November 10, 1925, age 88 years, 6 months and 30 days. He came to America in January 1863, and settled in Union Grove, Illinois. He and his brothers began railroad work and remained in that employment for about 23 years. On December 24, 1863, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Charlesworth, of Union Grove, Illinois. Read More	James Pearson was born in Gillbent, Cheshire, England, April 11, 1837, and died at his home in Pleasanton, Nebraska, November 10, 1925, age 88 years, 6 months and 30 days. He came to America in January 1863, and settled in Union Grove, Illinois. He and his brothers began railroad work and remained in that employment for about 23 years. On December 24, 1863, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Charlesworth, of Union Grove, Illinois. To this union seven children were born, fours sons and three daughters, all surviving him, except the infant son, James Arthur. He moved to the vicinity of Pleasanton, Nebraska, in 1884 and purchased a farm in Section 33 of Loup Township. In 1898 he moved to Kearney and remained there for about 12 years. His latter years were spent here in the village of Pleasanton. He united with the First Baptist church of Big Rock, Illinois in 1882, and since that time he has been faithful in the service of his master. After moving to Pleasanton he became a charter member of the 1894 organized class of the U B Church, that was organized in the old school house south of the river. Serving as one of the trustees, he remained a member of the U B Church till his death. His christian life without a question was firm both in business and social relations. It is remarkable to say that this is only the second death in his immediate family for 62 years. He leaves to mourn his beloved and devoted wife, Mary, and children: Mrs. Ada J., and husband, Dolly Phillips; Robert, and wife Fannie Pearson; Albert,and wife Grace Pearson; William, and wife Mary Pearson; and Sadie M., and husband, Elmer Hendrickson, all of Pleasanton, Nebraska; and Mabel J., and husband, Rolland Kauffroath, of Oakdale, Nebraska; twenty-nine grandchildren and ten great-granchildren; and a miltitude of friends. Funeral services were held in the U. B. church at Pleasanton, Thursday at 2 p.m., Rev. L.E.Stricker, pastor, officiating.
