Burial was in the Powhatan Cemetery at Plover beside his wife and daughter, Ruth, with the Martin Funeral Home of Emmetsburg in charge of arrangements. James P. Henderson, 88, suffered a stroke at the home of his son, Raymond, in Emmetsburg Monday, March 7, and passed away Thursday, March 11, at the Emmetsburg hospital. He was a son of James and Beatrice (Penman) Henderson born at Plover, Iowa, on October 22, 1871. He lived all his early life with his parents on their farm west of Plover. On December 25, 1901, he married Eva May Harmon at the Harmon home east of Havelock. They made their home near Plover. Two children, Raymond and Ruth were born to this union. His wife passed away in June 1917. Mr. Henderson was a charter member of the Plover Presbyterian Church. He farmed west of Plover until he retired in 1955 and lived with his son, Raymond. He is survived by his son, Raymond, of Emmetsburg; six grandchildren; a brother Charles Henderson of Plover, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife and their daughter, Ruth, three brothers, George, William and John, and three sisters, Elizabeth Horsman, Catherine Parradee and Janet McFadzen.
