John Henderson, a resident of Pocahontas County for more than 80 years, died at the home of his daughter, Pearl McFadden, at Prairie City, May 18, 1952, following an illness of three months. Mr. Henderson was born April 12, 1870, at the homestead farm northwest of Plover, the son of James and Beatrice Penman Henderson. His twin sister, Janet McFadzen, preceded him in death in January 1946. He became affiliated with the Presbyterian church in Plover at an early age and has been an active member of the church for many years. He was united in marriage to Ella Harmon on May 18, 1898, and they established their home on a farm 8 miles northwest of Plover. To this union three children were born: Pearl McFadden, Roy Henderson and Gladys McLaughlin, of Springfield, VA. His wife preceded him in death in December 1940. Two brothers and three sisters also preceded him in death. Besides his three children, he is survived by nine grandchildren: Clare Henderson, Belmond; Merlin McFadden, Prairie City; Betty John Lawrence, Lowell and Ray and Gene McLaughlin, Beverly Ammons, and Carol and Jimmy McLaughlin, Springfield, Va., and two brothers James P. and C. R. Henderson, both of Plover.  John is a twin brother to Janet (Henderson) McFadzen. Also, John married Ella Myra Henderson who is a sister to Eva Mae Henderson who married John's brother James Penman Henderson making their children double-cousins.
