McClellan J. S. The remains were brought to Carnforth on Sunday and the funeral was conducted at the Methodist church in this city Monday afternoon. The services were in charge of Rev. W. J. Hamilton. The services at the grave in the beautiful I.O.O.F. cemetery were in charge of Sharon Lodge, No. 287. The deceased was most excellent citizen and was one of the pioneers of this vicinity. He was 77 years, 11 months and 3 days old at the time of his death. He has been in poor health for some years but it was not thought by his numerous friends in Victor that he was in a critical condition until the sad news reached here late Saturday evening telling of his demise. The family has the sympathy of a host of friends in their sorrow. OBITUARY James Seals McClellan, son of Ephriham and Margaret McClellan, was born April 16, 1832, at Waynesburg, Pennsylvania and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Milton Rice, of Stanwood, Iowa March 19, 1910, at the age of 77 years, 11 months and 3 days. He moved to Montpelier, Williams county, Ohio in 1861, then to Washington county Iowa, in 1864. From there to Linn county in 1873, and in May 1880 he moved to Victor and in 1897 to Carnforth where he has since made his home. He was married to Miss Clara Gray in 1859. To this union three children were born, all of whom preceded him. He was again married in 1875 to Mrs. Ella J. Jones who died in 1903. He is survived by one son, two daughters, three grandchildren, and one great-child. He was one of a family of ten children, five of whom are still living.
