Description : James. S. Pingrey, Turner county pioneer, passed away Sunday at 7 p.m., May 5, 1940 at the age of 79 years at the home of his son, D. A. Pingrey in Hurley, SD.

The funeral will be held at the home and the Hurley Methodist church on Thursday afternoon, May 9, 1940.

Mr. Pingrey was born in Tronto, MI in August, 1861. He was the son of James W. Sterns and Luanna R. Pingrey.
