Read More	JAMES ROBISON was born in Wayne Co., Ohio, April 5th, 1818, and died at his home in Birmingham, Friday, May 4th, 1894, aged 76 years 29 days. In 1834 he moved to Harrison County, Ohio, and in 1839 came to Van Buren County, Iowa, and settled on a farm 3 ½ miles south of town in Lick Creek township where he remained until September 1892, when he bought property and removed to Birmingham. April 18, 1844, he was married to Sarah A. Wilbur, in Lick Creek township. To them eleven children were born, eight of them are living in this county and in fact, in the immediate neighborhood. Mrs.Belle Arbaugh, living at Douds, and the youngest daughter, living farthest away from the old home where they were born. The children are George W., Isaiah W., Lorena E. Hootman, Lemira S. Jameson, James T., Mary A. Collais, Mrs. Sarah B. Arbaugh, and William R. His first wife died very suddenly August 8th, 1881, expiring in a few moments from a stroke of apoplexy. He was married a second time to Miss Elizabeth Ager, his now bereaved widow, near Bentonsport, June 12th, 1883. He had been in failing health all winter, but was around town every day, and ten days previous was in Keosauqua on business. Thursday he was up town until late in the afternoon and appeared in his usual jovial mood, but told some of his friends that he was failing rapidly and felt that his end was near at hand. But little did he think that in less than twenty-four hours from that time the summons would come. Friday morning he arose feeling as well as for a week past, doing his chores, and about 10 o'clock went to the barn and turned his horse out into the lot. Going back to the house and feeling poorly he laid down on a couch in the sitting room. About 11 o'clock he arose and with the assistance of his wife walked out into the dining room, when his limbs gave way with a stroke of apoplexy and he sank to the floor. Mrs. R. holding and letting him down as easily as possible. A physician was summoned in haste, but could do nothing, life having become extinct in less than five minutes after leaving his couch. The funeral occurred from the Presbyterian church of which he had been a member for twenty-two years, Sunday morning at 11 a. m., Rev. McNary conducting the services, and his remains buried in the Birmingham cemetery. Robison, James, farmer, Sec. 25; P.O. Birmingham; born in Wayne Co., Ohio, April 5, 1818; in 1834, moved to Harrison Co., Ohio; in 1839, to Van Buren Co., and settled on his present farm. He served his township one year as Trustee. Married Sarah A. Wilbur April 18, 1844; she was born in Campbell Co., Ky., July 21, 1825; have had eleven children, eight living--George W., Isaiah W., Lorena E., Lemira S., James T., Mary A., Sarah B. and William R. Members of the Presbyterian Church. He has 425 acres of land, valued at $8,500.
