| Description | : | It is thought that James W. McPherson was born in Chatham county, North Carolina, but the county is not proven. It is believed that he and his wife, Harriett, relocated from Indiana to Kansas in Nov. 1882. James McPherson is buried next to his wife Harriett McPherson and their graves are located towards the west side of the shorter rows in Lake Creek Cemetery, very near to and northeast of the large mausoleum.
