Description	:	COZAD — James W. Ziebell, 79, of Cozad died Sunday, April 12, 2015, at his home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington with the Rev. Rob Kuefner officiating and the Rev. William Ohlmann as liturgist. Burial with military honors will be at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery northeast of Arapahoe. James was born Dec. 20, 1935, in Arapahoe to Julius and Margaret (Hinz) Ziebell. He attended Immanuel Parochial School and graduated from Arapahoe High School in 1953. James served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957. On Feb. 7, 1958, James married Carol Faw in Arapahoe. James’ working career in agriculture included farming and feedlot management in several Nebraska and Colorado communities. He was a faithful and devoted member of Trinity Lutheran and other Lutheran churches where he served in various offices as secretary, elder and vice president. James was a giver. He volunteered for CASA, Pony Express and Lincoln County Sheriff’s Posse. He received Ag Employee of the Year in 2003. James was very proud of each child and grandchild and their strengths and accomplishments. He was an animal lover and owned many horses and dogs over the years — his special love. Of course he was a supreme cattleman and loved the outdoors and plants, trees and grass — God’s creations. He was a good husband, good dad, good man. James is survived by his wife, Carol of Cozad; children and their spouses, Mitch and Cheri Ziebell of Cozad, Toria and Alan Carpenter of Thornton, Colo., and Stephanie and Brian Dorr of North Platte; grandchildren and their spouses, Turner and Bridgett Dorr, Marshall Dorr, Dylan and Melinda Carpenter, Amanda and Ross Spradlin, Sarah and Adam Hillers, Rebecca Ziebell, Taylor and Braxton Fecht, Marguerite and Aaron Gallegos, Jeremy and Lisa Carpenter, Michael and Amber Carpenter and Deanna and Randall Kelley; 11 great-grandchildren, Chandler, Rieker, Mollie, RaeLyn, Henley, Ashton, Avery, Ellie, Erich, Layton and Hadley; one great-great-grandchild, Bella; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends whom he touched over the years. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Beata and Ervin Petermann; and brothers and sister-in-law, Albert Ziebell and Robert and Carol Ziebell.
