His death was the result of injuries received when he was struck by an automobile at West Second and Walnut streets, on the afternoon of October 31st. He had been a member of the Christian church for at least forty years. The greater part of his life was spent as a farmer in Lucas county. In 1920, he moved to Des Moines where he had since resided. "Wills," as he was known to his numerous friends and acquaintances, was a good husband and father, a sincere, honest, temperate man, whose entire life was one of service to his family. He was married to Susan Lenetta Tibbels on June 16, 1895. She preceded him in death on Feb. 11, 1920. The deceased is survived by two daughters, Mrs. O. N. Lafollette, of Anamosa, and Mrs. Gail Traw, of Des Moines; and four sons, George Williby, of Rice Lake, Wisc.; Byrle Williby, of San Diego, Calif.; Blanford Williby, of Centerville, Iowa; and Ivor Williby, of Des Moines; also one brother, J. C. Williby, of Omaha, Nebr.; and one sister, Mrs. T. J. Vickroy, of Knoxville. The funeral service was held from the Hamilton Funeral Home in Des Moines Nov. 9, conducted by Rev. P. R. Stevens, pastor of the Capital Hill Church of Christ, and interment was in the Brownlee cemetery in Lucas county, Iowa. Obituary courtesy of Charles M. Wright
