Description	:	South Sioux City - Jane A. Nelson, 89, of South Sioux City, formerly of Jackson, Neb., died Monday in a South Sioux City nursing home after a brief illness. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church In Jackson. The Rev. Michael Printy and the Rev. Emmett Meyer will officiate. Members of Harty McNally Post, American Legion Auxiliary of Jackson will stand honor guard at the church. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery in Jackson. The body will then be taken to the church in Jackson where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Mrs. Nelson, the former Jane Beacom, was born Nov. 9, 1897, in Waterbury, Neb. She married Silius H. Nelson Feb. 4, 1920, in Jackson. The couple lived in the Jackson area where he was a rural mail carrier for 42 years. He died July 5, 1980, in Sioux City. She moved to South Sioux City in 1981. Mrs. Nelson was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and Altar Society. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Jackson. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Norma) O’Neill of Ponca, Neb.; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. The Sioux City Journal, January 14, 1987
