She was stricken with cholera morbus, and before aid could be summoned, had passed to the land beyond the blue to join her husband, who had preceded her. She leaves several children and many friends to mourn her demise. Friday 9 Aug 1895 Red Cloud Chief Page 5 OBITUARY Died at her home in Smith county, Kansas, August 5, 1895, Jane Brown aged sixty-two years, four months and eleven days. She leaves two sons and three daughters to mourn her loss. She was laid to rest in the Webb cemetery Wednesday, August 7, services being conducted by Rev. Horton. She has crossed the lonely river And her sufferings now are o’er, She has gone to dwell forever On that fair and peaceful shore.
