Description	:	Janet Esther Cumming, the daughter of Roy Glenn and Esther Mathilda (Olson) Cumming was born on September 21, 1938 in Boone County, NE. She was baptized at confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church, Platte County, NE. Janet attended Boone County School District #47 and graduated from St. Edward High School in 1956. Janet taught at a rural school near St. Edward for 1 year. She then attended Luther College in Wahoo for 2 years, then completed her education at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN with a Bachelor's Degree. Janet worked as a parish worker in several different Lutheran churches across the Midwest and Eastern States. In 1976 she began work at Augsburg Fortress Publishers in Omaha, NE and was there for 22 years until it closed. She then cared for her father for 2 ½ years. In Ocotber of 2005 Janet entered the Cloverlodge Care Center in St. Edward. It was there that she passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 71 years of age. She was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Omaha, NE. Janet's life was devoted to her faith. Her faith and her family were very important to her. Janet is survived by her brother Lonnie Cumming and wife Phyllis Noreen of St. Edward, NE; her sister Nana Channer and husband Carroll of Columbus, NE; 5 nephews, 4 nieces, and numerous grand nieces and grand nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at the Salem Lutheran Church in St. Edward, NE with Rev. Noel Peterson officiating. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in St. Edward, NE. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5-7 at the Miller-Levander Funeral Home in St. Edward, NE. On Tuesday there will be visitation from 4-6 p.m. with a 6:00 p.m. Prayer Service at the Calvary Lutheran Church, 2941 N. 80th St., Omaha, NE.
