Lang was born Sept. 7, 1936 in Gering, and raised in Mitchell. In 1957 Janet married Dale and moved to Auburn, Wash. Janet dedicated her life to her family especially to her sons. Lang, 72, of Auburn, Wash., formally of Mitchell, died Feb 12 while attending the opening NHRA race in Pomona, Calif. Janet K. Lang was born Sept. 7, 1936 in Gering, and raised in Mitchell. In 1957 Janet married Dale and moved to Auburn, Wash. Janet dedicated her life to her family especially to her sons. When her sons were playing sports she was always there. When Toby and Jody started drag racing in the National Hot Rod Association(NHRA), Janet traveled with them for 23 years. She rode with them and was a capable driver of either rig, logging well over 300,000 miles since 1986. She received two "Gracious Lady" awards from NHRA, re-served only for women dedicated to the sport of drag racing. She made friends from coast to coast, racers in over twenty states came to know and love this special lady. She is survived by her husband Dale R. Lang and three sons Toby, Jody, and Cody. She is predeceased by her parents Ralph and Dorothy Morrison of Mitchell, and her sisters June Knowles, Joann Tate, and Jane John.
