Description	:	Janice Ziegler, 78, of Monroe, Nebraska, died Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at the Genoa Long Term Care Facility in Genoa, Nebraska. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18 at 10:30 AM at Gass Haney Funeral Home with Pastor Denny Reis leading the service. Interment will be in the New Hope/Okay Cemetery north of Monroe, Nebraska. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM and continue on Saturday from 9:30 AM until service time at the funeral home. Ziegler was born May 22, 1936, in Monroe, Nebraska, to Daniel H. and Mildred L. (Farrar) Ziegler. She attended the Monroe schools and graduated from Monroe High School in 1953. Janice attended Midland College for two years and taught in a rural school in Merrick County for two years. She then became employed at the Bank of Monroe where she retired from in 1989. Janice was a member of the Union Church and taught Sunday school until the church closed. Janice joined the Monroe United Methodist Church where she was a member of the council, financial secretary, taught junior and senior high Sunday school and vacation bible school, and served on the visitation committee. Since 1998 she attended Highland Park Evangelical Free Church and has been a member since January, 2004. Janice is survived by: Sister-in-law – Nancy Ziegler of Monroe, NE Sister-in-law – Sharon Ziegler of Monroe, NE Aunt – Jean Laudenklos of Monroe, NE Nieces and Nephews Janice was preceded in death by: Parents – Daniel and Mildred Ziegler Brothers – Robert and Gary Ziegler Niece – Kelly Ziegler Great-nephew – Andrew James Ziegler
