Description	:	Jared Mills, for fifty years a resident of Villisca and vicinity, died Monday evening at his home in this city, his death resulting from heart trouble and old age complications. He was 80 years old. He was born in Adams county, Illinois, on April 19, 1840, and when he was 3 years of age he moved with his parents to La Grange county, Ind., where he grew to manhood. Read More	Jared Mills, for fifty years a resident of Villisca and vicinity, died Monday evening at his home in this city, his death resulting from heart trouble and old age complications. He was 80 years old. He was born in Adams county, Illinois, on April 19, 1840, and when he was 3 years of age he moved with his parents to La Grange county, Ind., where he grew to manhood. He was married to Melissa Jane Anderson of Lima, Ind., on August 15, 1871, and to this union were born two sons and one daughter. The daughter and one son preceded the father in death. The surviving son is Rev. Ivan R. Mills of Lenox. Besides the wife and son there is also one sister, Mrs. Anna Noel of Buffalo, Minn., and three granddaughters, Clara, Gladys and Lois Marie Mills. Mr. Mills and his wife came to Villisca fifty years ago, settling on a farm five miles northwest of here. In 1893 they moved to this city, later residing for a time on a farm they purchased two miles west of here. They returned to town eight years ago. Mr. Mills joined the Methodist church in his young manhood. Those here from a distance to attend the funeral were Rev. and Mrs. Ivan Mills of Lenox and Mrs. Jared Mills' sister, Mrs. Amanda Mills of Sturgis, Michigan.
