His age was 76 years, 11 months and 7 days. The deceased came with his parents to Linn county, Iowa, in the year 1857. In 1872 the family came to Nebraska, settling on a homestead in Saunders county. Read More	Muscotah Record, Thursday, 30 December 1926 OBITUARY Jarvis Sumner Williams was born in Stratton, Vermont, on January 15, 1851, and passed away at his home near Muscotah, Kansas, on December 22, 1926. His age was 76 years, 11 months and 7 days. The deceased came with his parents to Linn county, Iowa, in the year 1857. In 1872 the family came to Nebraska, settling on a homestead in Saunders county. He was married on the 21st of January, 1878, to Mary Ann Burband and to this union were born twelve children. His loved ones left to mourn his loss are his loving wife, one daughter, Mrs. Maud Eaton, of Marquette, Nebr., and six sons, Glazier and Sumner, of Kansas City; Harold, of Belton, Mo.; Clarence, a student at Kansas University and Marion and Clinton, of Muscotah; ten grand children, one of whom, Doris Mae Duvall, was raised with the same loving care as their own when her mother passed away and left her at the age of 15 months; and one sister, Mrs. Delia Fleming, of Ashland, Neb. The children who preceded him in death were Ella, Nellie Mae Duvall, Jesse, Charlie and Bertha Florence. Mr. and Mrs. Williams were among the early pioneers of eastern Nebraska, sharing the pleasures and hardships of a new country. In 1904 they sold their home in Nebraska and purchased a farm near Bates City, Mo., where they li9ved until the spring of 1910, when they moved to the present home near Muscotah. When a young man, 18 years of age, Mr. Williams was converted and joined the First Methodist church organized in their locality and later joined the United Brethren church, and was faithful to his Lord and Master unto the end. he lived a life of sacrifice and devotion, his one aim being to give his children the advantages of an education and Christian culture. His passing means the loss of a kind and loving husband and a thoughtful, providing father. The funeral service was held at the Congregational church conducted by Rev. McDowell.
