Description	:	Jay H. Jensen, son of Herbert Jensen and Mildred (Schlamann) Jensen, was born October 20, 1953, at Superior and passed away on August 20, 2020, at his home in Chester at the age of 66. Jay was raised on a farm near Hardy, with siblings John, Jesse, Jim, Jerry, Jolene and Serita. Jensen, son of Herbert Jensen and Mildred (Schlamann) Jensen, was born October 20, 1953, at Superior and passed away on August 20, 2020, at his home in Chester at the age of 66. Jay was raised on a farm near Hardy, with siblings John, Jesse, Jim, Jerry, Jolene and Serita. He was baptized on November 8, 1953, at Salem Lutheran Church, Superior and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hardy. He attended school in Hardy and graduated in 1972 from Hardy High School. In high school he was active in band, football and basketball. He went two years at Curtis Vo Tech College in Curtis. Jay was united in marriage on April 15, 1978, to Linda Kapperman and to this union three children were born, Michael, Kevin and Jenilee. Jay's favorite things were faith, family, especially grandkids, farming, classic cars, horses and his coffee times with friends and talks with the neighbors. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Chester, where he held various church offices and served as head usher. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Mildred Jensen; brothers, John and Jesse Jensen. He is survived by his wife, Linda Jensen of Chester; sons, Michael of Chester and Kevin (Karen) of Rockford, Ill.; daughter, Jenilee (Jordan) Harms of Chester; grandchildren, Hayden, Tabitha and Harlow; brothers, James of Nelson, Jerry (Gail) of North Platte; sisters, Jolene (Steve) Palandri of York, Serita (Darold) Karmazin of Lincoln; sister-in-laws, Merideth Jensen of Clay Center, Carolyn Jensen of Superior; nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and many friends. Graveside services were held on Saturday, August 22, at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, rural Chester.
