Jean was born December 9, 1932, in Omaha, Neb., to the late Floyd and Berniece (Talty) Zimmerman. She graduated from St. Joseph High School, Neola in 1951. Jean married Richard P. Jean is survived by her husband of 63 years, Dick Fischer, of Neola; 9 children: Kay Lee, of Lexington, Ky., Tim Fischer, of Neola, Steve (Jyl Dinville), of Underwood, Iowa, Jan (Allan) Bertelsen, of Exira, Iowa, Tom (Nancy) Fischer, of Overland Park, Kan., Ken Fischer, of Mission, Kan., Dale (Jody) Fischer, of Council Bluffs, Matt (Julie) Fischer, of Neola, Eric (Alex) Fischer, of Omaha, Neb.; 20 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; siblings, Bill (Mel) Zimmerman, of Bakersfield, Calif., Don Zimmerman, of Neola, Anne (Richard) Moore, Joe (JoAnn) Zimmerman; brother-in-law, Paul Wellman, all of Des Moines, Iowa; many nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family, Tuesday, 5 to 8 p.m., with a Scripture Service at 6 p.m., at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Neola. Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Neola. Reverend Wayne Gubbels will be the celebrant. Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery with a lunch following at the parish hall. Memorials are suggested to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, St. Albert Schools or Neola, Iowa Fire & Rescue.
