Private Graveside services will be held at the Okay (New Hope) Cemetery, rural Monroe, Nebraska. Jean Elaine Nyffeler was born May 9, 1930, in Platte Center, Nebraska, to Emil and Laura (Schmidt) Johnson. She graduated from Platte Center High School and attended the Commercial Extension School of Commerce in Lincoln. On September 22, 1951, Jean was united in marriage to Lee Nyffeler in Monroe, Nebraska. They farmed together on his family farm in the Duncan area for several years. Jean and Lee enjoyed traveling to many car races across Nebraska. Jean cherished her time with family and friends, especially her grandsons, watching them play sports, fishing, and celebrating special events. Jean was a member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ where she was treasurer of the Sunday school for many years. Jean was also a former 4-H leader. She will always be remembered for her willingness to help anyone at any time. Her compassion, generosity, and overall “love of life” will be missed. Jean is survived by: Daughter – Marsha Long of Lincoln, NE Grandson – Lance Long of Lincoln, NE Grandson – Ryan (Kellie) Long of Lincoln, NE Great Grandchildren – Ava and Mason Long of Lincoln, NE Brother-in-law – Wallace Nyffeler of Duncan, NE Brother-in-law – Roy (Louise) Nyffeler of Columbus, NE Many nieces and nephews Grand dogs – Bodi and Lucy Jean was preceded in death by: Parents – Emil and Laura Johnson Husband – Lee Nyffeler Parents-in-law – Julius and Lillian Nyffeler Brothers – Carroll (Delores) Johnson and David (Frances) Johnson Brother-in-law – Harold (Betty) Nyffeler Infant brother-in-law
