Description	:	Lee Arnold Nyffeler, 84, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at Cottonwood House Retirement Center in Columbus. The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 20 at 10:30 AM at St. Luke's United Church of Christ with Rev. Chris McArdle officiating. Interment will be in the New Hope/Okay Cemetery north of Monroe, Nebraska. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home and continue on Friday from 9:30 AM until service time at the church. There will be a family prayer service on Friday at 10:15 AM at the church. Lee Arnold Nyffeler was born July 10, 1929, in Columbus, Nebraska, to Julius and Lillian (Hegi) Nyffeler. He attended District #5 Grade School and graduated from Kramer High School in Columbus. On September 22, 1951, Lee married Jean Elaine Johnson in Monroe, Nebraska. Lee served in the National Guard from November 5, 1953, to November 5, 1956. Lee farmed in Platte County his entire life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being with family, car racing, and especially spending time with his grandsons. He was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ and the Eagle's Club. Lee is survived by: Wife – Jean Nyffeler of Columbus, NE Daughter – Marsha Long of Lincoln, NE Grandson – Lance Long of Lincoln, NE Grandson – Ryan (Kellie) Long of Lincoln, NE Brother – Wallace Nyffeler of Duncan, NE Brother – Harold Nyffeler of Columbus, NE Brother – Roy (Louise) Neffeler of Columbus, NE Lee was preceded in death by: Parents – Julius and Lillian Nyffeler Infant Brother
