Jean Helen Nutter Nelson was a remarkable woman, a woman who need be remembered and notated prominently. She was born in Buffalo County Nebraska in 1915 to one of the oldest and most prominent pioneer families of that region, her father English, her mother Swedish. She married Yale R. Nelson, (August 31, 1942) who was a pilot (Captain) for United Airlines (UAL) until his retirement. Jean was a loving mother, home-maker, and caregiver to her family and friends. I daresay there is not a soul who would not feel she was a true saint! Her most passionate hobby, actually more than a hobby, was Genealogy. Because of her husband's connection with United, Jean was able to travel all over England and Europe searching through old abbeys, castles, and cathedrals, documenting the Nutter family history. A family which dates back to 1300 England (Burnley Lancashire). A fact, had it not been for Jean, would be little known. The Nelsons made many life-long friends over-seas in search of family roots, to include Yale's family history and connections, as well. The Nutter family owes this woman a dept of gratitude for the enormous amount of work she completed on the Nutter Family Tree. Jean worked selflessly to this end, and I might add, she loved the Nutter History and her heritage passionately. She never hesitated to share her findings with those who would ask. Jean was delightful, she had a warm and joyful demeanor that made others wish she was a precious member of their own family. She was my Great-Aunt, I loved her, she reminded me so much of her sister (my beloved grandmother Inez, who passed away when I was young) with her voice, her mannerisms, her generosity, and her kindness. Both women are missed desperately and left a void in their families which has never been filled. Nelson Residence was Broomfield Colorado Activities: Member of the United Church of Broomfield and the Historical Society of Buffalo County in Nebraska Jean enjoyed sewing, travel, family genealogy and spending time with her family Survivors include: husband; sons, Robert of Broomfield, Steven of Firestone and Thomas of Superior; daughter, Lyn Nelson-Heins of Broomfield; and six grandchildren Preceded in death by three brothers and eight sisters
