Description	:	FULLERTON - Jean L. Young, 94, of Fullerton died Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Fullerton. Pastor Linda Lambert will officiate. Burial will be in the Fullerton Cemetery. Palmer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Jean was born Feb. 18, 1918, in Fullerton to John W. and Jessie E. (Whitney) Russell. She grew up in Fullerton, and graduated from Fullerton High School in 1936. She attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, graduating in 1940 with a bachelor of science degree in home economics. Following graduation, she taught school in Oakland and Pender. While teaching in Nebraska, she pursued her master's degree during the summers at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colo. Jean was married to C. T. Young in 1942. She then went on to teach at Highland Park, IL, a suburb of Chicago. She made her home in Fullerton, and three years ago moved to Valley View Assisted Living in Fullerton. She was a member of Phi Beta Gamma, First Presbyterian Church, Illinois Retired Teachers Association and P.E.O. Jean enjoyed her nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and watching the Chicago Bulls and Michael Jordan, and the Chicago Cubs. Survivors include two nephews, John Russell of Fullerton and Tim (Ann) Russell of Hastings; two great-nieces, Krista (Adam) Heiden of Lincoln and Jamie (Pat) McQuillan of Milwaukee, Wis.; one great-nephew, Riley (fiance, Abby) Russell of Lincoln; and two great-great-nieces, Addison and Kendall Heiden of Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Jack Russell; one sister, Margaret Russell; and one sister-in-law, Dorothy Russell.
