She served 10 years and was past president of the Fullerton Library Board. For 25 years she was treasurer for the Nance County Red Cross Chapter and also headed fund drives for the organization. She is a former chairwoman for the Nance County Cancer Society and headed drives for that group. She is a past member of the National Association of Bank Women. She is a member of the First Presbyterian Church and had served on the board of trustees, ruling elder, Sunday School treasurer for more than 25 years. She is a member of PEO and has served as past president and has held PEO state appointed committee positions. She enjoyed knitting, her cats and antiques.
