Jenny was the daughter of John and Barbara (Unrein) Lechman and attended the Padroni School before marrying Adolph Joseph Loos on Aug. 16, 1958 at St. Anthony’s Church in Sterling. The couple was married for 53 years before Adolph passed. Mrs. Loos loved being a housewife but also was a cook at St. Anthony’s School, sold Tupperware and cleaned houses. Jenny was a faithful Catholic whose belief helped her through good and challenging times. Every morning she never missed watching Mass and praying her rosary before bed. She was a longtime member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society, and the Sacred Heart Circle for many years. Jenny’s greatest joys were cooking, baking, canning and spending time with family and friends, including caring for son Jerry when he became handicapped in an accident 34 years ago. She especially loved large family gatherings during the holidays and German Dutch hop weddings. Her love for family included overcoming a strong fear of flying, heights, and water to travel to Florida for a grandson’s wedding ceremony. It was there that Jenny also stepped in the ocean and sailed in a boat that was circled by an alligator. With her contagious smile and love filled heart, Jenny remembered everyone’s special occasions with cards, one year sending out at least 360 of them. She was preceded in death by parents John and Barbara Lechman, husband Adolph Loos, in-laws Joe and Elizabeth Loos, brothers-in-law Joe Loos, Andrew Loos, Phil Loos, John Loos, Leo Loos, Ed Loos, and Joe Weingardt, sister-in-law Dolly Baskall and two infants - a baby boy and a baby girl Lisa. Mrs. Loos is survived by daughters Kathy (Chip) Steger of Sterling, Barbara (Ed) Foos of Sterling, Donna (Mark) Anderson of Merino; sons Jim Loos and friend Stephanie Penfold of Sterling, Jerry Loos of Merino, and Jack (Tina) Loos of Evans; sister Vi Weingardt of Sterling; brothers Donny Lechman of Sterling, DuWayne (Beth) Lechman of Sterling; sisters-in-law Julia Loos of Ovid, Frances Loos of Greeley; brother-in-law John Pete (Judy) Loos of Sterling; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren. Her husband Adolph, whose birthday would have been on Jan. 3, was the love of Jenny’s life. After she passed the next day on Jan. 4, the couple was reunited to never again be apart.
