Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at Tennant Funeral Home with Vigil and Rosary Service at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert L. Wedow celebrating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery Mrs. Lechman was born on May 13, 1914, in Antonino,Kan., to Alex and Mary (Sauer) Unrein. The family moved to Colorado in 1928 when she was 14 years old. She married John Lechman on Jan. 28, 1936, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Iliff. The couple farmed near Crook. In 1943, they moved and farmed at Padroni. Then in 1956, they moved to Atwood and farmed until retiring to Sterling in 1980. Mrs. Lechman was a member of St. Margarets Circle, Legion of Mary, and Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. She worked at Sterling Heights Nursing Home from 1961 to 1967. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing, playing cards and most of all her family and loved dancing with her husband. She is survived by her sons, Donald Lechman and wife Nancy of Fleming and DuWayne Lechman and wife Beth; daughters, Violet Weingardt and husband Joe, and Jeannette Loos and husband Adolf, all of Sterling; brother, Alvin Unrein of Denver; sister, Armella Pfeifer of Topeka, Kan.; sister- in-law, Pauline Hergenreter of Fort Morgan; several nieces and nephews; 22 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded iii death by her parents, Alex and Mary Unrein; husband, John; son, Ronald Lechman; grandson, Ronald Lechman; great-grand son, Bradly Lechman; brothers, George, Wendlin and Laurence Unrein. Memorials may be made to the Barbara Lechman Memorial Fund in care of Tennant Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1547, Sterling, CO 80751.
