Description	:	Jeannette Abigail Givens, the daughter of David and Rachel Givens, was born in Belmont county, Ohio, on March 7, 1868, and passed away at her home in Nelson, Nebraska, on April 3, 1950, at the age of 82 years and 27 days. She was the fourth of a family of seven children of whom only one survives her. She moved with her parents at the age of four years to Blue River, Wisconsin, where she grew to young womanhood. Read More	Jeannette Abigail Givens, the daughter of David and Rachel Givens, was born in Belmont county, Ohio, on March 7, 1868, and passed away at her home in Nelson, Nebraska, on April 3, 1950, at the age of 82 years and 27 days. She was the fourth of a family of seven children of whom only one survives her. She moved with her parents at the age of four years to Blue River, Wisconsin, where she grew to young womanhood. There as a young girl she united with the Christian church. In 1892 she came to Nelson, Nebraska, where on September of that year she was united in marriage to Matthew Crandell. To this union four children were born. In 1915 she transferred her membership to the Methodist church to be with her family and was a regular attendant as long as her health permitted. Her husband preceded her in death on June 18, 1928. One son died in infancy and another, Marvin, passed away in March 1932. She leaves to mourn her passing one son, Victor E., and one daughter, Fern, both of Nelson; one sister, Mrs. Susan Highbanks, of West Union, Iowa, a great number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon, April 5, at the Nelson Methodist church (sic) by the Rev. E.B. Stewart, pastor, assisted by the Rev. J.W. Kennedy. Mrs. Arbor Ferebee, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ferebee and J.E. Portwood provided the service music, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. H.H. Hite. The casket bearers were Fred Lee, Melvin Johnson, H.T. Nichols, Claude Flower, Harve Williams and Chas. Demilt. Burial was made in the Nelson cemetery (sic). The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, April 6, 1950 -------------------------
